Desaru is a coastal resort in the southeast of the Malaysian peninsula. The small town of Bandar Penawar, about 2 km inland, the east coast of Johor had a leisurely beach that could be reached without a boat. The chef of Super Lobster Restaurant has been worked in a five-star hotel in Singapore. The environment here is quite clean, the staff is very friendly and fast service. This is a traditional Chinese restaurant, but it is halal. Many people from Singapore often visit it on weekends. Their specialty dish you must not miss is herbal lobster, the price may be a little high, but that’s value for money. All the seafood is fresh. The fishing boats will return to the sea about three or four hours a day, so fresh seafood comes ashore every day. In fact, there are many options besides lobsters and crabs, such as shrimp, sea urchins, tribute, Lala and Sotong.

The owner of MK Swat Jalal is a Pakistanis gentleman who has settled here and his staff is Pakistanis. This place is located in the Bandar Penawar town, about 4 kilometers from the Lotus Desaru Resort. If you can’t find this restaurant on Google Maps, you can go to MarryBrown, and you will reach just about 100 yards from this place. Their experience in making “Lazeez” non-vegetarian foods is evident in some dishes, such as Mutton Curry and Chicken Biryani. It is highly recommended that you try their Puri bread and lamb curry, because Puri is different from the local Indian purple, and breakfast or lunch is a good match. Most notably, their mutton curry is addictive, lack of menu and high price, but the food tastes good.

Teluk Sengat is a small village, which is a fishing village between Desaru and Kota Tinggi. Sengat Seafood Restaurant was a gem in a quite remote town, from Desaru only thirty more minutes by car. It is usually convenient for customers to visit crocodile farms. There are wooden tables and plastic chairs, no air conditioning, no decorations, but it is a simple kampung-style. There may not be much difference in price and taste from what you can get in the famous restaurants in Johor Baru, but if you happen to be traveling by road or near Desalu, this will be a good addition to your lunch or dinner schedule. You can’t miss the fried buns because they’re dipped in gravy. It is highly recommended that you try Chili Crab and Gong Gong.

6. Nelayan Seafood Restaurant

It is also a branch of Tunamaya Beach and Spa Resort, it loosely translated as Fisherman by locals fetches the freshest catch from the local shores and served up the best seafood. The food is delicious although the price is a little high, but serving were big. There also has a live music during dinner. This is one of the outlets of Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort nearby Lotus Resort & Spa Desaru 1 km drive away, a new and exciting dining experience hailing from Kuala Lumpur. There is also an outside sitting and has the air-conditioning sitting. Their restaurant limits the choices of menu. They just offering authentic Thai boat noodles and street food because each bowl has a small serving of RM1.90 nett, so you can taste all the dishes at once. The most recommended dish is Lemon Grass Chicken wing, Tomyam Glass Noodle Soup. The boat noodles soup portions are good for the children, because the dish is small in size.
