Option 2: Bus from Singapore to Malacca
If you are on a budget and want to travel alone, bus services are the cheapest transport option from Singapore to Malacca. You can take buses at Queen Street, Golden Mile Building, Royal Park Hotel, etc.
You can choose from bus companies such as KKKL Express, Konsortium, Starmart Express and other bus dealers. No matter what bus service you choose, remember to keep your ticket safe, you’ll need it later.

You will need to alight at Woodlands Checkpoint for immigration clearance.
The bus will then take you across the causeway, where you have to get off again to get your passport stamp at Johor Customs.
Remember to get off at immigration with all your belongings.
This is a really tiresome process (about 30 minutes to an hour) and a waste of time.
Option 3: Coach from Singapore to Malacca
This is another economical option to travel by coach from Singapore to Malacca.
You will also need to get off the bus twice and queue up at Woodlands Checkpoint and Johor Customs, especially during school holidays or public holidays.

Option 4: Train from Singapore to Malacca
Step 1: Take the train from Woodlands to Johor Baru (JB)
Unfortunately, there are no direct trains from Singapore to Malacca, but the steps listed below will take you through the life experience, hopefully.
Your journey will depart from Woodlands Railway Station in Singapore and the train will stop at JB central station in Johor. Please note that the shuttle train called Tebrau is the only train service departing from Singapore.
Step 2: Take a train from JB Central to Malacca
After that, you can take a train from JB Sentral Station to Malacca. You have to get off at Pulau Sebang station(Tampin). The journey could take five hours and 30 minutes due to slow trains.
Please note that there are only two trains per day from JB Central to Tampin Station. If you miss the train, then you need to find other means of transport to come to Malacca.
