1. Johor Bahru’s Old Temple

Johor Bahru’s Old Temple located in Johor Bahru town city centre along Jalan Trus, it is one of the oldest standing religious structures in Johor Bahru, and the most visited till today by devotees and visitors alike. This temple built by Tan Hiok Nee, the Kapitan Cina or Chinese Headman (chieftain) together with other Chinese leaders in 1875, the temple is over 140 years old now and it is the spiritual heart of Johor Bahru’s Chinese community. This temple is now surrounded by towering skyscrapers. Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple is still a much-visited place for prayers especially for the Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Hakka and Hainan, which are Chinese dialect groups. There has a large number of worshippers and visitors every day. This is one of the attractions everyone must visit to Johor Bahru.
2. Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Walk

Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Walk is a street which have memorable and historic. In this street, you can find traditional food as well as modern westernized shops. Although most of the authentic traditional chinese local food has been long lost everywhere else, but you also can find them here.
It represents the culture of the city, with some abandoned houses and beautiful graffiti for tourists to take pictures of. It is also a new and old Johor Bahru’s commercial street, with each of the two old shops with its own story, the old buildings which have been infused with new elements.
3. Zoo Johor

Johor Zoo is located at Jalan Gertak Merah and is reputed to be the first zoo in Asia. The scale zoo is very small with an area of about 12.5 hectares compared to Singapore Zoo or Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur but it also is a popular place where families with young children go during the weekends and public holidays for a time of recreation or simply getting together for a time of relaxation. There are also playgrounds, food stalls, recreation square and restrooms for visitors. You can go on a picnic with your family. There are more than 100 kinds of animals and birds in this zoo. One of the activities you can do here is boating at the mini lake near the entrance to the zoo. The children will be excited about the activity. There is also a corner of photography where you can take pictures with animals. Horse riding is another interesting event you’ll like.
4. Kota Iskandar Iskandar Puteri

Kota Iskandar, Johor State Administrative Centre was opened in April 2009. It is now one of the places in the state of Johor that must be visited. It inspired by Moorish-Andalusian and Johor Malay designs and motifs. Here you can feel a lot of art, and calm down to enjoy the feeling surrounded by art architecture. You will also be immersed in Johor’s rich culture and history while understanding the symbolisms and abstract interpretations in true style and splendour of Kota Iskandar- Johor’s Living Legacy. Beyond that, it represents many things about Johor: the heart of its politics, a storybook of its heritage, a thriving tourist hub, and the pride of its people.

6. Sanrio Hello Kitty Town

Hello Kitty Town Malaysia in Johor Bahru is the first Sanrio Hello Kitty theme park outside of Japan. It is located on the first floor of the indoor Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park, just a short drive from the Singapore-Malaysia second link. The other two floors are for the Little Big Club. You can explore and watch the perform live on-stage, take a spin on the tea-cup ride and pose with your favourite SANRIO characters. It’s time to get together with your friends and family for a one-of-a-kind Hello Kitty interactive themed experience. It is not a very large area. We can finish it in less than three hours. Fans of HelloKitty will be excited to see that everything from the front door to the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom is HelloKitty-style. The visit to Hello Kitty was more for the girls, especially four-year-old. There also have some wishful studio, such as cooking making and jewellery making.
7. Blue Lake Seri Alam

For those who have not visited Blue Lake, are you also attracted to the blue lake in the photo? The Blue Lake in Seri Alam has become a hot topic for Johor Bahru’s people. This Blue Lake shot to fame recently due to its breathtaking view and crystal-clear blue water. It’s not a natural lake, it’s an abandoned granite quarry-with the bluest water ever! Although a lake with blue water does not seem to be a big deal, it is clearly not a common sight here.
Some tips to get there!
1) Persiaran Seri Alam road is a circular road. Try to go to the road leading to the trailhead “Jln Persiaran Sinaran Ilmu” through anticlockwise direction. There is construction at the northern side. You should be heading to a road aptly named “To Blue Lake”.
8. Taman Merdeka Musical Fountain

Taman Merdeka was opened in April of 2015 as the brainchild of Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar of Johor. The audience watched in awe as multicolour lights lit the ever-changing fountains to the accompaniment of various music serenades. In this beautiful night, you will be dazzled by sparkling lights and water shooting 30 feet into the air. If you manage to park your car nearby, you can even enjoy the show from your comfortable car. If you want to do this, be sure to arrive early so that you can find the parking. Taman Merdeka’s music fountain show runs twice a day for half an hour at 9pm and 10pm.
9. Senibong Cove

12. Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum
