2. By bus (via Larkin Sentral)
If you want to use the service, you will have to go through the following process.
Step 1: When you pass the Johor Customs, you need to take a bus from JB Sentral to Johor Bahru Larkin Bus Station.
Step 2: Then, you must catch a bus from Johor Bahru Larkin Bus Station to Mersing Terminal Bus Station. The journey may take about 3 to 3.5 hours but not include the waiting bus’s time.
Step 3: When you reach to Mersing Terminal bus station, you need to take a taxi to go to Mersing Jetty which is about 4 minutes’ drive.
Step 4: Buy a ticket from the counter at Mersing Jetty and board a ferry to Tioman Island.
3. By flight (via Subang Airport at Selangor)
Tioman Island has a modern small airport, it just next to Tekek Village with small commercial flights. But there are no more direct flights from Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. However, if you plan to fly to Tioman Island, you can take off from Subang Airport in Selangor. In addition, only Systematic Aviation Services (SAS) air provides this less than 2-hour short-haul flight from Subang to the island.
