Zouk will pop up in any comments on the Singapore club scene. The very popular club has been likened to the best club in Europe, mainly to play home music to most young people. Zouk’s music is spun by its 7 resident DJs, while regular live acts from visiting artists – ranging from The Chemical Brothers to Kylie Minogue – are an added draw. For those with an aversion to heavy techno, the Zouk establishment houses Capital, where the crowd is slightly older, and the music is mainly soul and garage. The atmosphere here is a complex and futuristic-wall-decorated velvet and the original modern art of hanging, with the home-house feeling. The main building adjacent to the Zouk is the Phuture, where music is a more trade-off mix of mixed music, including travel, drum and bass. The decoration here is a futuristic, space-time hybrid steel with a liquid glass bottle and the most advanced lighting. The real action of Zouk and its sister discotheque will start until midnight. The most popular place for dinner and dance is the Red Tail Bar-it’s a good place to watch. As the largest club in the complex, the Zouk main Hallwith a capacity of over 1,500, regularly hosts international guests DJ, live performances, fashion shows, marginal art events, short film screenings and exhibitions. It is easy to understand why this space is at the heart of the club. It has pristine white-washed walls, extensive use of Gaudi-inspired Moorish architecture, a customised Gary Stewart analogue sound system and hi-tech lighting, a sprawling multilevel dancefloor, podiums, pockets of bars, and body-bending music.

2. Canvas Nightclub

Canvas Club at Clarke Quay has a yellow to black brand on the wall, which is bold and a little hard to miss. The club’s DJ list is full of local and international performers who play weekly, including garages, technology, progress, smallest houses, drums and bass. The canvas club is not only a place to play and party at night, but also an art gallery during the day. This usually translates into extended opening hours, from 3: 00 p.m. to 3: 00 a.m., on most days. The venue is called “canvas creative space” and “audio-visual, multimedia and interactive entertainment”. Most nights you should expect to pay around $S20 to S$30 to get in, but this does include a free drink. This entrance fee is subject to change for special events.

Singapore’s Attica Night Club has been one of the main highlights of the country’s nightclubs. Sitting next to the water at Clarke Quay, Attica draws in a loyal following of young Singaporeans with cash to splash, alongside a good helping of revelling holidaymakers eager to keep the party going into the early hours. The 2 huge dance floors inside Attica can fit up to 500 people, although on busier nights things can get infamously packed. Downstairs is all about the hip hop, R&B, and the latest chart-topping hits. Upstairs is the place to be if you’re serious about your bass-heavy underground beats, with guest-DJs usually spinning house, techno, garage, and electro. The upstairs space actually has its own name, Attica, although most people think it’s the same club. Tanjong Beach Club is a popular attraction on Sentosa Island, where you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, swim and play beach games. And basking in the sun in the swimming pool-all to relax the trajectory of the house and an overall international atmosphere. It’s going to be busy on weekends, especially near the bar. If you’re looking for a lively party, that’s great. The beach complex has an open-air but semi-shaded layout that has different sections for dining, drinking, and mingling, as well as a large pool for cooling off, complete with a wooden deck and sun loungers. You can rent a towel if you don’t have your own towel or look at the swimwear and accessories at the beach store on the spot. The view of cargo ships moored on both sides of the Singapore Strait may not be so spectacular, but the Tanjong Beach Club covers almost everything else in our book. The live DJ offers a cooling vocal cord during the day, where cocktails, wine and food choices belong to its own category compared with other Sentosa bars. High-end beach food here includes seafood, lobster, beer fried fish and potato chips.

5. Cherry Discotheque

Cherry Discotheque has a retro style and a fun atmosphere, unlike any other club in Singapore. Music straddles the electronic spectrum, from old skool hip hop to disco-don’t miss the disco classic every Wednesday night-and even some British dirt, you can expect a refreshing change from the glut of mainstream EDM here. The proliferation of mainstream EDM will bring about refreshing changes. Cherry discotheque is located near the festival area, north of the main party area. However, Mount Elizabeth does have some good warm-up bars.

6. Arena by Neverland

Arena by Neverland is a live music club in Singapore, commonly known as Thai discotheque. This means that beautiful singers and chat with guests between gatherings. The atmosphere on the stage is really cold, friendly and has no dress code, so even if you dress well. Music ranges from British to Thai pop, and some famous hip-hop and classic rock numbers are done by skilled living organizations. This is a nice change of pace from the nightlife areas of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

7. Headquarters by the Council

Founded by a dance troupe of DJ and family music lovers, the underground club adheres to strict minimum house and technical sounds. The parliamentary headquarters attracted a relaxed crowd to dance instead of being seen. The ceiling is low and the interior design is the smallest, but the sound system is quality and DJ is the real cutting edge. Located at the yacht wharf, open only from Wednesday to Sunday.
