In Kulai, almost everyone knows about the humble lei cha, which is located under a big tree at Jalan Susur Kulai 5 (near the auto repair shop). There are many tables in the dining room. They are clean and cool. The space is very comfortable with a nice kampung ambiance. Lei cha fan is eaten with yong tou fu sides, so customers always get fresh piping hot yong tou fu. If you want to eat yong tou fu, you have to be alert as each batch disappears quickly, especially to take away customers. Lei cha is usually served with a bowl of hot green coloured gruel of grounded vegetables and herbs.

This Ice kacang shop is among the famous stall in Kulai. This shop is full of people especially on Sunday. There are various flavors of ice kacang listed on board such as original, chocolate, cendol, ice-cream, fruit. Even with the variety of food options, happy land’s fried chicken nasi lemak is super famous. Together with nasi lemak Kentut and Yellow Corner nasi lemak is considered part of Kulai’s super delicious nasi lemak stalls. There are four different stalls. Three of them are located near the entrance of the cafeteria, selling Fried rice, fried kway teow and ngau hiang. The other one is located inside the restaurant, selling desserts, drinks and Indian rojak. You must pay separately for each stall. When you order at a nasi lemak stall, you must choose the portion of chicken you want, which is then prepared and chopped by the waiter.

The restaurant is famous for beef noodles, but it also sells other kinds of noodles, such as pork noodles and seafood noodles. But seafood noodles are only available after 10 a.m. The restaurant has two versions of noodles, one is dry noodles and the other is noodles in soup. But, in most cases, dry goods run out after 8 or 9 a.m. The soup version is salty, sweet and cold. It’s delicious. The pork noodles in soup taste good. Beef or noodle lovers must try this restaurant. Most Kulai residents love and are proud of the restaurant.

Sze Hwa is the only brand of bak kut teh from Kulai. The bak kut teh were early, in addition to the standard ribs and bones, it has intestines, tails, cartilage, abdomen, kidneys, liver, etc. The meat is meaty — it’s filled with soy sauce, fresh garlic, and herbs. The fresh meat is tender but still chewy. Fresh pork has a subtle pork sweetness. If you prefer a sweeter flavor, dip it into the sweet dark soy sauce. The brownish medium bodied broth was mildly savoury, slightly garlicky, herbal and not overly greasy.

6. Kedai Tauhu Beku

The service at Restaurant Yon Lai is fast and friendly, and it is always crowded with customers for delicious snacks. Their “big bao” are tempting to look at and are filled with pork. Both the bread and the filling taste sweet. If you are a fan of popular dim sum, the staff here will recommend their must-try. These delicious dumplings taste best when eaten hot, but they still taste good when heated at home. Yon Lai makes three main varieties of pau with savoury fillings of sliced pork meat, barbecued pork or char siew, and sweet fillings of tau sar (red bean paste) and leen yong (lotus seed paste).  The sang yuk pau comes in two sizes, one of which is a tai pau or big pau, which is big enough to be a satisfying small meal.

There are several reasons why Soon Kee is famous. First of all, the price of the dishes is very reasonable for different levels of people. Second, in addition to bitter melon soup, Soon Kee offers a variety of home-cooked dishes, just to name a few, including sweet and sour pork, dried chili chicken, minced meat tau foo, hakka deep-fried pork and various vegetables. Bitter melon soup is a signature dish in Soon Kee and one of the must-have dishes in Soon Kee. The soup base is made of pig bone soup. The bitter gourd is thinly sliced and cooked in a broth of pork slices and sausage (depending on customer preference). Bitter gourd soup is only RM3.50 per serving. Finally, the famous Fried pork belly. Interestingly, pork belly is marinated in fermented bean curd and is only sliced after frying. It’s delicious and crispy.

2. Bus & Coach From Singapore To Kulai

If you travel according to budget, consider taking a bus. The bus ticket can be booked online.
