1. Yuen Fatt Biscuit Sdn Bhd (源发饼家)

This is the best mooncakes’s in Kluang. The Shanghai Mooncakes is their famous mooncake and often attracts long queues during the mid-autumn festival.

Unlike the typical round mooncake, the Shanghai mooncake looks like a rugby ball. Some say it looks like a mouse.

Available flavors include pandan, black sesame paste and lotus seed paste. These mooncakes are fragrant and not too sweet. Best of all, the pastry melts in your mouth!

2. Tong Huat Traditional Confectionery (东发饼家)

Tau Sar Piah is the most significant biscuit at Tong Huat Confectionery. It is crisp, spherical, and has a scaly crust. Besides, the sweetness was just right. It’s perfect for buying as a ideal gifts.

Sometimes, you may need to call ahead, as Tau Sar Piah is usually not in stock. Cookies are best eaten within two weeks.

3. Kluang Coffee Powder Factory Sdn Bhd (居銮电视机咖啡厂)

This coffee’s factory, which is more than 40 years old, is the coffee culture of Kluang. The brand of coffee they produce has even been approved by the Sultan of Johor.

Their coffee is a blend of three coffee beans, such as Librica, Arabica and Robusta. Add just the right amount of sugar for a smooth and beautiful taste.

In addition to enjoying freshly brewed coffee, you can also watch the coffee beans being ground, roasted and packaged here.

4. Layang Food Sdn Bhd

Layang Food Sdn Bhd has a large area of land in the town where organic cassava can be grown. 5. Otak-Otak Cheng Boi

Cheng Boi is the best otak-otak in Muar and the otak-otak here are the most authentic and genuine ones. Their otak-otak are made with fresh mackerel fish, prawn or squid wrapped in coconut leaves with spices and coconut milk, and grilled right there. If you are in Muar, must look for the otak-otak Cheng Boi and try it.

6. Eng Hin Kedai Membuat Kuih-Muih

Eng Hin Kedai Membuat Kuih-Muih is the famous for hand-made noodles and Fuzhou biscuits 福州饼 According to the Foochow dialects, Foochow Biscuit is also called “Kompia”.  The original one had a small hole in the middle and no filling, while the others had different fillings. Must try everything here especially the FuZhou biscuits! The sweet one and peanut filling are the best!

Nictar Pineapple House produces and sells special pineapple products as well as fresh pineapples. Chop Hua Bee Bakery is one of the most famous in Tangkak, Johor. It was founded more than 60 years ago by the family matriarch. The biscuits are wrapped in paper before they are sold. Many people like the pastries here for their crispy crust and generous filling.
